little boy blue

It didn't go exactly as I planned, but the baby is finally here!

I have been too tired (and busy) to take many pics,
so Mara took a few. Here is my favorite so far!

He is a sweet little guy with big, manly hands and feet. I have to fight to get a chance to hold him. It's a good thing he is a nursing baby, that assures me a snuggle every couple of hours anyway.

The short story is that after laboring all night Thursday to Friday, my labor was essentially stopping, the baby was in a bad position and his heart rate indicated that he was getting tired. We transported to a local hospital for some intervention. The staff was lovely and it was a positive experience overall, although it wasn't the plan. We checked out a little less than 6 hours after he was born and made it home around 9 p.m. Friday. Sleep was the ONLY item on my mind, after sharing him with his sibs.

Sleep is STILL just about the only thing on my mind, so I will sign off now and go take another nap.

Thank you all for your prayers! They were felt and much appreciated.

    Rest sweetly~

  3. Oh, Meg! You've been in my thoughts and prayers! I'm so happy for you and your family! What a sweet little man! Nolan...I like that! He narrowed your gap between girls and boys just like our William did! Miraculous!!! ;) Have a fabulous Mother's Day! :)

  4. Look at that boy! He is SO handsome! I can't wait until I can come see another new one again.

Elizabeth has blogged regarding her feelings about him. Generally, I think she's holding up well. ;-)

My grandma was completely frantic. Kam called at about 4 on Friday, while I was picking up Liza, and when I asked how you were doing, he said, "Oh, yeah... she went to the hospital." We both prayed very hard (I prayed all the way home, two hours too late! - I'll just have to trust that God heard my prayers and that they'll help you anyways), and my grandmother called that night to make sure everything was ok and to see if you needed anything.

Her story was, of course, "I just knew it was a boy. I had a feeling..."

She has some clothes she's been collecting for you, if you need any. Let me know when a good time to bring them over might be.

Love you, Meg! I'm glad that you and handsome Nolan are both safe.
