Curriculum Clean-Out #1: Mystery of History, Vol. 1

Congratulations!

I've emailed for shipping info so I can get this in the mail ASAP.  Enjoy!

The time has come!  Clean(er) shelves are on the horizon. This give-away post is linked to the Fall 2011 Curriculum Clean-OUT hosted by Jolanthe over at Homeschool Creations. So, comment here then head over to see what other goodness is available!

I will try to post other give-aways during the day, however my dear hubby and I are taking an unexpected road trip (350 miles roundtrip) to look at and hopefully purchase a new-to-us van for our family.  You can see how that may make posting a challenge!

Give-away #1:
The Mystery of History
by Linda Hobar

In Very Good condition.  Our family found this curriculum informative but not truly able to meet the needs of our wide age span.  I had to stretch to make it interesting for my junior highers. Since I was also trying to "do" this curriculum while nursing a baby and holding (down) a toddler, it was just a bit much for that seemingly perpetual season of life. I have heard that it works well in a co-op.

To enter: Leave a comment telling what age(s) will be using the curriculum. That's it!  Simple as pie.

***Since I entered the wrong link in Mr. Linky, I am leaving the give-away open until Monday, 9am. Thanks for your patience!***  NOW CLOSED.

Don't forget, I will need a way to contact you if you win. Please respond with shipping information within 24 hours or I will force random.org to draw another winner for me!

Free shipping by media mail to US addresses only.

  16. I want to use it as a guideline for our indepth study of history, literature, culture, events and key figures for my 11 yr old. This is our first year homeschooling and he is bored with most other curriculums. I am most interested in this one as it goes from Creation to present chronologically. I know that we will be adding materials to it but since history isn't my strongest subject, I really feel this resource will help guide our discovery. It would be a godsend! Thanks in advance for considering us. "God" luck to the winner! Have a great day!

  22. Oh ... I hope I win! You'll probably think I am crazy but my daughter, Alyssa, turns 4 soon. She is working at an advanced level. My plan is to try out the younger student activities since they are more hands-on and to see how she reacts to this book. She listened well to me when I read and discussed the sample lesson. She heard the sample audio and asked me questions at the end. So, I know she will be able to sit and listen to the information. This book comes highly recommended and I found several other resources to compliment it as in gentle introduction to history. I also love that it is biblically-based. I used to be a teacher so I can make adaptations if necessary. If it doesn't work we'll save it for later for sure. If it does ... I will probably stretched the lessons out a bit. I was also considering using it with another family with four children ages 3 years - 3rd grade. Sorry, I was a bit excited and tend to chat.

  29. Right now, my three children (ages 4, 5, and 7) are loving reading through the second Story of the World books. We do love them! However, I have always had my eye on The Mystery of History. I opted for SOTW since my children were even younger when we started reading the series last school year. Next year, I will have a 3rd grader, 1st grader, and Kindergartner. Considering they will have a solid foundation with SOTW, I would love to swtich over to MOH. Thank you for the opportunity!

  39. We would love to win this MOH curriculum! I have been wanting to do this with my kiddos, and they are only 15 months apart, so it would probably work great for us!
    deelene@hotmail.com

    {Our co-op started with moh 3, because must of the families have older kids who have already taken 1 & 2, and they figured they can do those books with their younger kids later - and just do book 3 with all their kids together. It makes perfect sense, but I'd like to start at Creation and do a timeline. So we didn't do that class at co-op.}
